V748 JLC This looks like a police car at a distance, but is actually an ambulance car. The Renault Laguna estate is used by PHS Ambulance Service.

P882 JOK This Ford Transit ambulance conversion is also used by PHS Ambulance Service. You can see their logo on the side, looking very similar to the NHS logo. The ambulance is ex-All Wales Ambulance Services.
W949 OAL This Ford Escort estate is used by community first responders with Staffordshire Ambulance Service. You can see that it is decked out as an ambulance car but is not fitted with any visual or audible emergency warning equipment.

This low-power motor scooter is used by the Yorkshire Rose Ambulance Service. It is fitted with a large rotating blue light and plastered with ambulance stickers.
H477 AAS is a 1990 Ford Transit that is used by the British Red Cross. Notice the amber light for airside use and the twin air horns on the roof.
This is a St. John Ambulance first aid treatment centre. The Avon branch use this at large events to treat patients with minor medical issues. This reduces the demand on emergency ambulances and hospitals. You can see an access ramp at the rear and additional space in the adjacent SJA tent.
This is the 2007 shape Volvo V70 in ambulance markings. Notice the clear led light bar mounted high on the roof rails and the large repeater lights on the front grille.
FX56 HNF This Mercedes-Benz Vito has been converted into a Community Response Unit to be used by East Midlands Ambulance Service.
NJ05 TNF is a North East Ambulance Service Ford Focus estate. Notice how this rapid response car has a yellow bonnet, full height battenburg markings and a low profile led light bar.
Here is another example of a Ford Focus ambulance car. This demonstration vehicle is in European standard ambulance yellow with half-height battenburg markings.
S999 HSA This St. John Ambulance Crusader is supported by the HSA charitable trust (HSA is a health plan comapny). Their company logo appears on the doors, and the vehicle carries a personalised registration plate containing the emergency telephone number 999 and the company's name.
SF05 UTM This is a Scottish Ambulance Service Ford Fiesta van. It is simply decorated with SAS crests and a yellow stripe up the sides. A double blue light bar is fitted to the roof.
SD07 PXP is a Scottish Ambulance Service Ford Fiesta Van. This example is used as a first responder vehicle. Notice the lack of emergency warning equipment as the responders are not allowed any exemptions on the road. However the vehicle is brightly coloured to increase its road presence.

GX07 AYY is a Volkswagen Touran paramedic practitioner car used by the South East Coast Ambulance Service. Paramedic practitioners are often used to treat patients in the homes and remove the need to use ambulance and hospital resources.

This Nissan Navara is used by Yorkshire Ambulance Service as an incident response unit. It has a large tray in the rear which slides out for easy access to the equipment. It is manned by a specialist Hazardous Area Rescue Team (HART).
This is a Ford Mondeo Mk. 4. New for 2007, this is one of the first examples of the car being used as an emergency vehicle. Notice that it has 'paramedic' wording rather than 'ambulance'.
SG07 WMF This silver Toyota Hiace is used as an ambulance for carrying the deceased. It is fitted with green flashing lights as it sometime carries a doctor on board. It has been supplied by McAllister Funeral Vehicles.
LC06 UVY is one of a number of Honda CR-Vs that are used by the British Red Cross. This London-based example is fitted with an amber light on the roof for airside use.
HY07 FEO is a yellow Mini Cooper S that is being used by the South Central Ambulance Service as a rapid response car. The 1.6 litre car will also be used by community health care practitioners in Portsmouth. It has six white lights and four blue lights on the front, as well as a full width blue light bar on the roof.

WV04 ZPJ This Fiat Stilo is an ambulance car. The side-by-side photos show it in the daytime and night-time. The car is used by members of the national charity First Response in the North East Ambulance Service area.
YP02 GEK is a Vauxhall Astra ambulance car that is used for rapid response work by the Scottish Ambulance Service.
This Suzuki Vitara is used by Ise Valley Ambulance Service in the Northamptonshire area. Notice the yellow front grille and amber centre to the roof light bar.
PVS 240R This is a Range Rover ambulance conversion that was new in 1976. It was still being used as a front line vehicle in 2006 as part of the (non-NHS) South Coast Ambulance Service, England.
DX54 OYT is a Honda CR-V that is a clinical support ambulance car attached in Shropshire. The blizzard conditions are no match for this two-wheel drive car with off-road ground clearance.
In this action scene you can see the police escorting an ambulance on a blue light run. Both services are training to transport a high risk prisoner to and from hospital. The police Volvos stay very close to the front and rear of the ambulance. A third police car rides way up ahead and creates a route through traffic and keeps junctions clear. A fourth police car (an unmarked Land Rover Discovery) is out of shot at the rear of the convoy. This could be used to force any bandit vehicles out of the way.
HX55 LJZ This yellow Iveco Daily ambulance service incident support vehicle is used by Hampshire Ambulance. Notice that it does not have a blue light bar, just a series of blue flashing leds on the bodywork.
HX55 MYA Hampshire also operate this 3.5-litre diesel LDV Maxus as a smaller incident support vehicle. Notice the very small blue flashing lights mounted into the front grille.

J479 TOA Still in service in 2007, this J-reg (1992) Leyland DAF is used by Hampshire as a mobile control unit at major incidents. The illuminating green and white checkers on the light bar indicate its control status. You can see that there is a ladder mounted on the side which allows staff to raise the roof-mounted communications equipment.
HX05 BCU This silver Volvo V50 is used by Hampshire Ambulance Service to respond quickly to emergencies. It can get to a job faster than a traditional ambulance and begin to treat the patient while the ambulance is still making towards the scene.
EY53 GNP This Volvo XC90 is used by St. John in London for Pediatric Retrieval Services. Notice the yellow bonnet that helps to increase the conspicuousness of the car.

SY54 LRX and SY05 YUX are British Red Cross Nissan D22 4x4 pick-ups. The unusual vehicles have a large box on the rear portion to carry equipment. They are liveried as Emergency Response Units and are fitted with snorkels to drive through deep water.
WA06 ULJ This Nissan Patrol has had its roof heightened as part of its conversion to an ambulance. This makes more height inside and also allows the blue lights to be integrated into the bodywork. It is run by the British Red Cross.
DU54 TFO This silver Nissan Navara is a Staffordshire Ambulance Community First Responder Vehicle.

Y348 GUD is a Volvo V40 that is used by Severn Ambulance and Medical Services.
This green Citroen C5 is a private ambulance decked out in green and white checkers.
G590 XJV is a Mercedes 310 diesel ambulance from 1989. This vehicle is used by Conocophillips and Total at the Humber Oil refinery. It is used to provide medical assistance at the massive oil processing site.

XTL 845S is an immaculate Ford Transit mark 1 ambulance dating from 1977 which was still in use nearly thirty years later in 2006. Just like the Mercedes above it is fully operational with blue lights and sirens an is used at the Humber Oil refinery.
