MX56 NHC This is a Iveco Daily DIM (Detection, Identification and Monitoring) unit. It has specialist facilities on board to detect, identify and monitor chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear (CBRN) or other hazardous materials.

It is part of the New Dimension Programme and a fleet of 18 identical vehicles have been distributed across England and Wales. These special vehicles have no external markings except for fire-brigade coloured checker markings. Additional security includes Yale locks on all doors in addition to the manufacturer’s locks.

The rear of the vehicle is the equipment storage area for air-tight suits, breathing apparatus, decontamination equipment and scene lighting. Blue lights are fitted all-round.

YD52 YHJ and TD52 YHK are two vehicles that are stationed at Kirkybmoorside fire station in rural North Yorkshire. The 1995 rescue pump is a Volvo FL6 / Emergency One and the 4×4 is a Land Rover Defender which tows a trailer carrying a ScotTrack Glencoe all-terrain vehicle.



This is Northallerton’s ScotTrack Glencoe all-terrain vehicle. It is a 1993 model, with the only other one being at Kirkbymoorside dating from 1995. Both vehicles are unregistered for road use and are primarily used on moorland to access grass fires.
