Dating from 1960. This vehicle spent most of its life in the Middle East in Jordan, Aden and Cyprus. In 1993 the Queen road in the back to the Commonwealth Heads of Government conference in Cyprus. It was used as a VIP escort vehicle in Cyprus before being sold to a private owner in Cyprus. Later it was handed back to the RAF who transported it to the UK and used it at RAF Halton in Aylesbury. Following a move to Portsmouth and 12 years stored in a damp garage it was most recently moved to RAF Honington in Suffolk where it has been partly restored.

Two RAF demo police bikes are shown here. The VFR1200 is liked for its power, but the 780cc Crossrunner was criticised for its plastic and ill fitting dash, and the seat not being grippy, throwing the rider forward into the tank under braking!

This is a Royal Air Force Police Land Rover ‘Snatch Wagon’. The vehicle is carrying desert camouflage colours with a blue light on the roof. Union Jack and RAF Police signs can also be seen. This picture was taken in Basra, Iraq in 2008.

A Royal Air Force Police Land Rover 110, which was also in Iraq during 2008. This vehicle was hit by indirect fire and the damage to the windscreen can be seen.

BU53 KWX This is one of a fleet of identical Vauxhall Astra estates that are used by the Royal Air Force police. They have amber flashing lights included in the roof light bar for use on airfields.
