NK09 HDY This MAN / JDC rescue pump was new to County Durham and Darlington FRS in 2009.

WX59 BZR This is a Scania / JDC that is in service with Wiltshire at Salisbury. It is one of four identical vehicles with JDC Polybilt bodies that have been posted to whole-time stations.
YL57 OVD This is a West Yorkshire F&R VW Passat. It is decked out with a yellow stripe down each side, which also wraps around the bonnet, following the lines of the bodywork.
BX08 GVN This Renault Master motor home is used by the British Red Cross as part of their Fire and Emergency Support Service (FESS). The vehicle provides an immediate temporary shelter for those who have been displaced by fire.
BU04 FLN This Vauxhall Combo van is operate by the West Midlands Fire Service. The distinctive livery is designed to help persuade drivers to switch off their mobile phones whilst driving. The van is fitted with a small combined light and siren bar mounted on the roof bars.
MX56 NHC This is a Iveco Daily DIM (Detection, Identification and Monitoring) unit. It has specialist facilities on board to detect, identify and monitor chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear (CBRN) or other hazardous materials.
It is part of the New Dimension Programme and a fleet of 18 identical vehicles have been distributed across England and Wales. These special vehicles have no external markings except for fire-brigade coloured checker markings. Additional security includes Yale locks on all doors in addition to the manufacturer’s locks.

The rear of the vehicle is the equipment storage area for air-tight suits, breathing apparatus, decontamination equipment and scene lighting. Blue lights are fitted all-round.

NL09 CVX is a fast intervention unit with County Durham and Darlington FRS. In the rear of the Ford pick-up is a hose reel, pump and a small amount of other firefighting equipment.
YJ09 OYU This Land Rover / Angloco is a West Yorkshire vehicle that carries a full-width light bar and equipment storage in the rear for fighting wildfires.

EA56 JDO is a West Yorks Ford Ranger 4×4 that is shown here with all of the blue flashing light on. It has a very slim bar on the roof and two sizes of LEDs on the front grille.
YJ08 ADV A Volvo prime mover based at Mirfield, West Yorkshire.
Y322 MCP is a Vauxhall Movano based at CIBA chemical manufacturers in Bradford. It is used as an Incident Response Unit on the large industrial site.
K620 KMB A611 LWX C863 GCX J789 GJX and Y322 MCP This is the line up of four appliances and the IRU that are in use at CIBA in 2009. It is a very mixed fleet, with a red Mercedes, a white Dennis, a white Renault / Dodge and a white Volvo shown here.
This unregistered Unimog U4000 is a fire demonstrator vehicle supplied by Mercedes. The vehicle is fitted with four wheel drive, differential locks and a central tyre inflation and deflation system making it extremely capable when driving off road.
This Renault based vehicle has a hydraulic scissor lift platform on the rear which can be used to tackle fires from above or to raise and lower heavy fire fighting equipment.
This demonstrator is a T3 Motion. It is an electric vehicle that can carry one person that can be charged in 3-4 hours and can travel at up to 12 mph. The T3 series is very popular with law enforcement agencies in America.
DK08 NUE This Vauxhall Astra is used as a publicity vehicle for Cheshire Fire’s “6 Sense” campaign. The six logos down the side show Plan, Test, Check, Care, Close & Call. The car is not used for emergency response work.
Cheshire Fire cadets have use of this Citroen van for their training. It has a roof rack for ladders and an equipment trailer but does not need to be fitted with blue lights.
OV07 EHN This Nissan Navara has fire-style “Rescue” markings on its bodywork.
T958 MEF In this photograph a retained firefighter rushes to the fire station in Pickering, North Yorkshire, after being called out by pager. He joins his colleagues in the engine which has its blue lights flashing in readiness for leaving the station on an emergency call.

YJ58 XEA This dark red Land Rover Defender 110 is used for off-road work by North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service.

YD52 YHJ and TD52 YHKare two vehicles that are stationed at Kirkybmoorside fire station in rural North Yorkshire. The 1995 rescue pump is a Volvo FL6 / Emergency One and the 4×4 is a Land Rover Defender which tows a trailer carrying a ScotTrack Glencoe all-terrain vehicle.
This is Northallerton’s ScotTrack Glencoe all-terrain vehicle. It is a 1993 model, with the only other one being at Kirkbymoorside dating from 1995. Both vehicles are unregistered for road use and are primarily used on moorland to access grass fires.
TD52 YHK A rear view of the Land Rover and ATV combo. In the rear of the ATV you can see a small pump and a length of hose.
F613 JUE This Range Rover TACR2a is in private ownership. In 2005 this vehicle was in service with the private company Sharp-Fire Ltd.

N14 TTO This is a Mitsubishi L200 fire car that is used by Rapid Fire Cover as a rapid intervention vehicle. It has a fire-fogging system with a 250-litre tank in the back of the pick up.
YN07 PNJ is a Scania P310 fire appliance with Emergency One bodywork used by South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service.

M121 XPU is a former Chevrolet Ambulance used as a Fie Support Vehicle by the Heritage Fire Service. at Elsecar, South Yorkshire. This voluntary run organisation provides fire cover for the Elsecar Heritage Centre and the Elsecar Railway Preservation Group.
