Two BMW emergency blood bikes that are used in the Leinster area of
Ireland. Blood Bike Leinster is a Charity set up to transport blood products
for the hospitials in the Leinster area free of charge.

02-D-56512 Dublin Civil Defence operate this Iveco as an emergency ambulance.

91-D-48541 This Land Rover is used By Dublin Civil Defence as a Fire and Flood Response vehicle as part of the Auxillary Fire Service. This is one of several 4×4 response vehicles in use with DCD. They are called upon during severe weather or as requested by Dublin Fire Brigade, HSE or the Gardaí for assistance. Most carry portable pumps, sand bags and suction in the rear, some are kitted out as ambulance vehicles. The one pictured can do both.

95-D-53826 This ex-UK 1995 Carmichael / Rapier ex-front line fire truck is used by Dublin Civil Defence. It is now on the run with Clondalkin Auxiliary Fire Service in South Dublin. As of 2012 it is among the newest of tenders in the DCD Fleet.

03-D-46992 This is part of the Dublin Fire Brigade in Ireland. This fire engine is a Dennis Sabre and is displaying blue flashing lights as it exits the station.

98-D-39333 This Mercedes Benz 814D is assigned to the Garda Technical Bureau. This department is responsible for a number of support services, including fingerprinting, ballistics, forensics and photography.

Here is a demonstration Garda Mercedes Sprinter. Built by Wilker, it is a command and control unit, complete with small office, satellite and radio links, CCTV and side canopy.

05-D-44048 Here we have a Fiat Ducato that is used as a public order van by Gardai around the Cobh area.

06-D-82563 This is a Fiat Ulysse MPV which is also part of the traffic policing fleet.

06-D-81803 is an example of a mark III Ford Mondeo Garda traffic car. It is fitted with a roof-mounted light bar with four LEDs to the front and rear, as well as additional blue lights on the front wings and alternate flashing headlamps.

Here is a photograph of a Garda Opel Vectra from around 1990. It carries the livery of the day, a single blue stripe and simple wording.

This is “Alpha Sierra Two”, one of the two aircraft used by the Garda. It is based in Dublin and is accompanied by a fixed wing plane. It is a Eurocopter EC135 and was delivered at the end of 2002.

06-D-82065 is a 2006 Toyota Avensis used by the Irish Garda.

This is a side-on shot of a 2006 Toyota Corolla hatchback used by the Garda.

05-D-78619 This Garda Ford Mondeo is part of the traffic policing section (Cór Trachtá). It carries a single wide band of battenburg markings and the Garda crest on the side.

05-D-6546 and 03-D-57289: Here another Garda Mondeo is parked next to a Ford Focus which carries the same livery but a smaller light bar.

This old Garda car is a Renault 4. It shows the old livery of Garda cars, which were light blue in colour, had wording ands the badge on the doors and had one blue flashing light.

96-D-42366 This is an example of a 1996 Garda Land Rover Defender.

This Nissan Terrano is also used by the Garda for on and off road use. It is a 2004 model and is used as a dog unit.

Here is a Garda 2005 Ford Fiesta. Look how the stripe up the side seems to be at an angle due to the car’s high waistline. It is used for community policing duties.

02-D-77071 Here is a Ford Transit that is used for public order in Dublin city. The shield can be lowered down over the windscreen to protect the police from flying projectiles.

05-D-78694 This Garda Ford Mondeo has sporty front grilles but no repeater blue lights.

Here are two side-on shots of Garda Mondeos. The battenburg markings are on the newer vehicle. Compaing the two liveries, you can see a number of differences including larger ‘Garda’ wording on the newer car and mismatched wheel trims.

06-D-4327 This is a Garda checkpoint set up using a 2006 Ford Galaxy. In the back you can see the wooden racking that houses traffic policing equipment, including a range of collapsible signs and freestanding flashing beacons.

02-D-72495 The Garda in Cork City operate this Ford Mondeo estate. It is equipped with blue lights which are attached to the roof rails. It is used by the Traffic Corps for road policing duties.

04-D-10833 Here is a Dublin-registered Garda Isuzu Trooper. Notice the twin lightbars due to the length of the vehicle’s roof.
