Cheverolet GMC This was the very first Chevrolet that Northumbria bought in 1993. There were six in the batch and this model served from new at Wallsend. It has a 6.2 litre diesel engine and was an unusual sight on the roads of the UK. The personalised registration plate caused quite a lot of controversy in the local press regarding the waste of money on buying the plate. It was initially intended that the service retain the plates, but they did not! The ex-ambulance is seen here photographed in 2015 when it was a non-runner in need of a full refurbishment. |
