This Mercedes ambulance is with East Anglian Ambulance Service. It is unmissable, with full sides of battenburg, reflective chevron markings on the rear, and a yellow cab. Look how the rear light bar contains blue for emergency use, amber for repeater indicators, white for illumination or reversing and red for braking or emergency use.

This Honda CRV is a silver with battenburg markings car used by the East Anglian ambulance service.

This Ford Mondeo is a 'Hospital Rapid Response Unit'. Seen in the South Yorkshire area, it does not carry any county wording or ingignia.

This aged Peugeot started off as a rapid response car with Tees, East and North Yorkshire Ambulance Service (TENYAS). After 2001 it was commissioned to be a TENYAS Logistics vehicle, as the livery shows.

British Red Cross medical unit Mercedes truck preceded by a Red Cross LDV emergency ambulance. Both vehicles are based in London, and the LDV is almost identical to its London Ambulance Service cousins. The LDV also seems to be missing a blue light from it's grille.

63135 This Guernsey Ambulance & Rescue Service ambulance is an Isuzu Trooper. Notice the entirely numerical registration.

This is a LDV ambulance used by South Yorkshire Ambulance Service for training transportation. Despite being made in 1997, this R-reg vehicle looks dated in livery and shape, and is an unusual choice for an emergency ambulance. It is one of a batch of four that were for each of the four main towns in South Yorkshire. They were supposed to be front-line fast response vehicles with patient transport capabilities. Among the inadequacies that caused them to be abandoned was poor performance. This was unsuccessfully addressed by fitting turbos at great expense! The other three vehicles were sold or written off not long after their introduction.

This Vauxhall Astra estate transports the equipment and mechanics needed to keep North Yorkshire's ambulances on the road.

This black Land Rover Discovery belongs to a private ambulance company. It has a minimal livery and clear lenses on all of its blue lights. The rear view shows the compact blue LED lights mounted on top of the bumper.

This is a 2.5TD 4x4 Ford Ranger-based incident support unit, built by Ferno International Rescue Equipment. It is liveried as belonging to West Midlands Ambulance Service. Notice the winch on the front bumper. The rear aspect. The rear can be switched between a major incident support, a hazmat incident support, a comms or an ambulance incident support pod. Or it can be used just as a pick up truck with no pod!

This is a silver Renault Megane estate ambulance car, with a single stripe of green and yellow squares. Notice the clear LED lights (that flash blue) on the grille and front wings. It has been adapted for ambulance service work by MacNeillie.

A 2003 VW Passat ambulance car.

This Land Rover Discovery has been highly modified. It has had a bull-bar fitted, 6 additional white lights, a big blue light bar, an air-intake snorkel and comprehensive roof rack. Strapped to each side of the rack are sand ramps, to help get traction on soft ground. It is an ex-Camel Trophy vehicle. Note the spot light and large axe on the rear of the Disco. The livery is also very unusual. Yellow bodywork is covered with battenburg markings down both sides, the bonnet is black, the side windows have writing over them, and there is a Netherlands flag where the rear registration is usually displayed.

This Ford ambulance is run by the Thames Valley Ambulance & Paramedic Service, based in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire. It is very rare, being a left-hand drive model in use in the UK.

This Vauxhall Omega is a rapid response car owned by Thames Valley, which is a private ambulance company.

This is a Toyota Avensis estate in ambulance livery. Notice how it is fitted with an ultra slim light bar on the roof rails as well as a small additional unit below the front grill. The rear view shows the extra high visibility markings and light bar strips on the open boot. This is to aid with the visibility of the car at an incident when it is parked with the boot open.

This is a Nissan Xtrail demonstrator. Apart from the markings, it is identical to a Xtrail police demonstrator.
