This is a VW Transporter ambulance that is in service with the Scottish Ambulance Service. In 2013 it holds the record for the most Northerly-stationed emergency vehicle in the UK. It is based at Baltasound in the North of the island of Unst, the most northerly of the Shetland Islands. It's location, near 61 degrees North, makes it further North than Oslo in Norway. The vehicle is stationed outdoors but is plugged in to keep the battery in peak condition. Just 10m South is a fire station.
