B551 RLP This is a custom-made Boughton fire and rescue appliance used at Tresco Heliport. It has a foam monitor on the roof and very high-profile tyres.





The front view. Notice how the headlights have been moved to the bumper and their previous location replaced with blue flashing lights.





The rear view. In three corners of the roof are blue rotating beacons, and in one an amber beacon.

It has had the body extended to accommodate equipment lockers and ladders, meaning the addition of a second rear axle. The reason for having this unusual vehicle is because the main runway is a tidal beach. A heavier vehicle would struggle to drive on the sand.
